Quick Move-in Home vs. Building from the Ground Up

A misconception of buying a new construction home is that your only option is to wait several months to get a brand-new home in a neighborhood that you love. Luckily, this is not always the case, so if you have a few months to buy – or just a few days – you can have the new construction home you’ve always wanted!

Flexible Options

A new home builder offers two ways to buy: you can build your home from the ground up or choose from a selection of quick move-in homes.

Building a home from the ground up can take a few to several months, depending on the area. Quick move-in homes can be either ready to move-in right away or will be in various stages of completion, allowing you to close in as little as a few days to a few months.

Building from the Ground Up

Building a new home from the ground up allows you to choose your lot, your floor plan and all your options and upgrades. Options can include adding extra bedrooms and baths, extending your garage, adding bonus rooms like a media room, game room or study. You work with a team of designers at the Builder Design Center to choose every aspect of your new home, from the cabinets and backsplash to the flooring and lighting.

Visiting the community will allow you to see all of the lots available. You can determine things like what direction you want your home to face, the lot location within the community and the size of the lot. You decide if you want your home to be located close to an amenity center, school or on a corner. Looking for an oversized yard, greenbelt lot or a lot with a park or lake view? You’ll have many choices and can select the lot that best suits your needs.

Choosing a Quick Move-in Home

Choosing a quick move-in home gives you the option to buy a home that has already had the options and upgrades pre-selected by our design team. They select room configurations, flooring, cabinetry, countertops and more that are on-trend and stylish. Depending on the stage of construction the home is in, you can see the layouts and options in the home and how they all tie together. Many quick move-in homes are built on desirable lots and you may find that what was selected by the designers, is exactly what you would have picked yourself.

Peace of Mind

Whether you choose your floor plan and lot to build your home from the ground up or select one of our quick move-in homes, you’ll receive the peace of mind of having a dedicated sales and construction team, as well as a warranty on your home, appliances, roof and more.
